But why must the unicorn be subsumed to the car? It just doesn't seem fair...

it's waiting until the time is right - say, one day when the car is tired of its nasty, rich owners, when it's tired of ferrying low-grade diplomats around, or simply when it desires to feel the country air once more - then it will shrug off its metal casing and charge forth, a glowing white unicorny presence in the night!

alternatively, somewhere out there you might find unicorns with wheels instead of hooves ...
